“If you're confident and love to speak then YouTube is the best option for you”

If you've been searching about starting a YouTube channel for a while then you must have came across this phrase many times...

But there are some other factors too that you may consider before starting a YouTube channel…So here are 5 things you need to know before starting a YouTube channel

  1. It requires time and attention
  2. ‎You have to be consecutive
  3. Don't be greedy
  4. It takes time
  5. It's a community not a market
+ a bonus tip at the end
This blog is followed by my series of Review on Websites that helps make money online

1) It requires time and attention

YouTube requires nothing from you when you create a channel but the only investment they ask for is your time, and there's nothing wrong in that, if they are paying you then they will require something in return, you can never achieve anything by not giving anything first. The second thing that YouTube requires is your attention towards the content your uploading, it should be according to YouTube policies and something that people might be interested in watching, because it's sort of a partnership, YouTube provides you a good platform and audience and expects you to provide them with good content so that people spend more time on YouTube's platform, and that sounds pretty fair... If you're serious about your channel than your videos must be of good quality, and by good quality I don't mean HD but just a quality that won't look messy or unclear because after all it's a video what's the point of making a bad quality video, secondly your video should be properly edited if needed, in short, your video needs to be presentable, and if you want your videos to be presentable, you have to give time in Making them... the process of filming and editing the video requires some time, and if you're a beginner than it will take more time because you'll be in a learning process, once you'll get used to it then it might take a little less time...

2) ‎You have to be consecutive

If you want your channel to be successful, you must consider uploading at least 2 to 3 videos a week... remember at least 2 to 3 videos, because if you're starting a channel and you uploaded a video and you obviously have no subscribers so let's assume someone watched your video and wanted to watch more of your videos so he/she visited your channel but there are only one or 2 videos so he/she will click the back button and most probably forget about your channel and never come back... let's say the viewer didn't just went back, he/she subscribed first, and then they waited for few weeks but you still didn't uploaded another video then eventually that viewer will unsubscribe from your channel thinking that the channel’s owner have no plans of uploading more videos...

3) ‎Don't be greedy

There are three types of people who make a YouTube channel...

1) those who love to share their thoughts to the world through videos and tries to earn some money while doing what they love.
2) the money seekers the ones how just want to make money…

If you're in category 1 then YouTube is a great platform for you because YouTube appreciates such contributors, what actually happen is that YouTube simply want such contributors who upload good and genuine content and YouTube rewards them by paying them so that they can continue their good work. But if you're in 2nd category, than there is hardly any hope for you on such platform. Some people think that if they'll make a YouTube channel and place some videos on it then they'll be millionaires in months…. They think this without accepting the fact that what makes you money asks you to invest something in it first, you cannot earn a single penny without investing a little bit of effort in it first...

4) ‎It takes time

Recently, YouTube changed its monetization policies requiring 4,000 hours of watchtime in last 12 months along with 1,000 subscribers...This is not that easy to achieve but it’s pretty fair, it lets YoyuTube know which YouTuber is actually performing well…. due to this policy many youtubers who were just there to make money left YouTube... this way YouTube cleaned it's platform from such youtubers who were just there for money... because what Youtube’s motive is that if people make good quality content YouTube will reward them by paying them so that they continue making good videos...

5) ‎It's a community not a market

Another thing to keep in mind is that YouTube is a community, you have to build good relations there with your viewers and other YouTubers, because if you are nice to others they will like you and will love to watch your videos too. After starting a YouTube channel a great way to build relations and attract viewers to your channel is by commenting on other YouTuber’s videos, but mostly people do it the wrong way, commenting on other videos doesn’t mean to spam, instead, you should just appreciate their videos and build a relation from there. And it’s really crucial to reply to every comments on your videos this helps building a good relation with you viewer...

Bonus Tip:

In the starting days of your YouTube channel, focus mainly on uploading more and more videos as soon as possible, because if someone watches your video, it's more likely to happen that they come across another video of yours in suggested videos, plus if they visit your channel they will be served with more of your videos which will help retain their attention to your channel...
